Canada bashing, again! Facebook posting, over 2,000 hits against Canadian shoppers, especially at Costco. America has many enemies throughout the world, let's not make Canada one of them. We can choose our friends, as they choose us. Canada is and has been our best friend. Canada and Canadians should be respected because both nations' peoples are "children of a common mother," as the Peace Arch Monument states. Canada has the largest proven oil and gas reserves in the world; largest uranium deposits; the largest potassium (fertilizer) deposits; second largest reserves of diamonds; the smallest population (40 million) administrating the second largest land mass on earth; and control of the Northwest (arctic) passage, which will soon rival the Panama Canal. So let's keep cool and stop Canada bashing. Even the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce president is on record as saying "we welcome Canadians and Canadian business," because of Canadians purchasing in Whatcom County, sales tax revenue is much higher that most counties, therefore benefiting local citizens. Also,Canadians have more disposable income for shopping, because they all have free medical-dental universal health care, hence less health worries than Americans. Last point: Canada has 15 percent of the world's fresh water supply, so lets be nice or they might cut off our water (ha!).
