Lynden police seek would-be kidnapper

The suspect vehicle is described as a white full size extended cab pick-up with a tool box (possibly diamond plate) in the bed. There is a distinct gold colored cross on the left side of the tailgate similar to this sketch.

A 10-year-old girl escaped an attempted abduction with minor injury just before 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, according to Lynden Police Deputy Chief John Billester.

The would-be kidnapper is described by police as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a black T-shirt and white, brown and black plaid shorts.

The incident took place near 4th and Liberty streets in Lynden. The suspect vehicle is described as a white, full-size extended cab pick-up with a tool box, possibly with diamond plate, in the bed. There is a distinct gold-colored cross on the left side of the tailgate.
