Bells season comes to an and with playoff loss at Wenatchee

The Bellingham Bells' season came to an end after a 6-3 loss at Wenatchee in Game 3 of their WCL playoffs series on Monday, Aug. 13.

The Bells had won the first game of the three-game series at home before dropping the next two games at Wenatchee. The AppleSox will take on Corvallis for the WCL title.

Bellingham had taken a 2-0 lead with two runs in the second inning. John Albert earned a bases-loaded walk for a 1-0 lead and Jonny Locher followed with an RBI single for a 2-0 lead.

The Bells were ahead 2-1 in the sixth inning before Wenatchee scored three runs. The AppleSox tied the game at 2-2 on a bases-loaded walk and Jeff Stephens hit a two-run single for a 4-2 lead.

Wenatchee took a 6-2 lead in the seventh inning when Jordan Osborn hit a two-run triple.

Bellingham scored one more run in the eighth inning when Albert scored on an error.

Andrew Olson started for the Bells and gave up three runs in 5 1/3 innings. Sean Hartnett came in relief and gave up three runs in 1 2/3 innings to take the loss.
