The Punt, Pass and Kick, sponsored by the NFL, is coming soon to Whatcom County.

The annual competition will be 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, at Civic Stadium. Signups are still going and registration can be made at nflppk.com or at facebook.com/BellinghamNFLPuntPassAndKick.

The competition allows kids to show off their skills in punting, passing and kicking with scores based on distance and accuracy. The age classification is as of Dec. 31 of the current year. The top finisher from each age group at the local competition can advance to the sectional competition.

FLAG FOOTBALL AND SOFTBALL LEAGUES OPEN

The Bellingham Parks and Recreation Department has openings for its Fall Coed Softball League and Adult Flag Football League.

The softball league will last from Aug. 17 to Sept. 30 and each team will play one to two games a week for a total of six games. The leagues will be Friday and Sunday and cost per team is $330.

The flag football league begins Sept. 9 and cost per team is $450 with registration limited to the first 12 teams.
