Rant: Dog owners should park in designated area at off-leash park

Published: August 13, 2012

I would like to post a rant to the couple in the light brown SUV I saw inside the off-leash dog park at Squalicum Beach.

Was it really too hard to park in the lot provided on the west side of the park? I would have gotten your license number if I had not been in a hurry to leash my dog.

Stunned, I followed the trail up to Lindberg Street where I saw that you (and I assume others before you) have dug out the concrete footed park post that keeps vehicles out and moved it aside so you could drive down to the beach. Please try to have a movement in your cranium about the little kids and dogs down there who are in a supposed vehicle-free zone.
