Rave: Thanks to all who helped with homeless project at Bellingham High

Published: August 13, 2012

On July 27 I accompanied a disabled friend to the homeless project held at Bellingham High School. I was so very, very impressed by this event and the professionalism and dedication shown by all the people who worked hard and put in extra time to help the needy obtain vital resources. We were shown courtesy and respect by the guides who shepherded us to the various areas where people were being served and by all the people who assisted us.

A special thanks to Linda, who was like a hound dog all day on a scent of getting my friend on the road to Social Security and housing. The concept of consolidating all these resources together was innovative, and made the process of getting proper medical, vision, housing and Washington I.D. so much quicker.

The people in this community who contributed to this event should be commended for their selfless and wise approach to the needs of the homeless. My friends was able to obtain the records he needed to obtain badly needed Social Security and housing and as a result he is looking forward to his future without hopelessness. You have my thanks!
