Four Whatcom FC Rangers teams win age group titles at Puma Rimland Pacific Cup

Four Whatcom FC Rangers girls' soccer teams came away with age group titles at the Puma Rimland Pacific Cup on Sunday, Aug. 12.

The four winning squads were: WFC Rangers G99 Blue squad won the girls' under 13 copa division; WFC Rangers G97 Connell won the girls' under 15 premier; WFC Rangers 96 Gold won the girls' under 16 premier; and WFC Rangers GU18 Blue won the girls' under 18 copa.

For the WFC Rangers 96 Gold squad, it won in the age group title game behind two goals from Julia DeBere and a shutout by Siobhan Williamson. The 96 Gold team, which has won three of four tournaments it has played in this summer, went undefeated and conceded one goal in the tournament. Mia Hodges was named MVP of the tournament.

The WFC Rangers G99 Blue team was 2-1 in its championship game. Sierra Smith and Autumn Johansen scored for the Rangers team which is in its first year together and won a tournament earlier this summer.
