Bells beat first-place Wenatchee to move 2 1/2 games out of first place

Derek Atkinson had four hits and Andrew Olson pitched into the ninth inning to lead Bellingham to a 3-2 West Coast League victory at Wenatchee on Saturday, Aug. 4.

The win improved the Bells to 30-19 while Wenatchee dropped to 33-14. Bellingham is 2 1/2 games out of first place in the East Division.

Olson pitched 8 1/3 innings and gave up two runs and had five strikeouts for the victory.

Atkinson went 4 for 4 with a run and RBI to lead Bellingham at the plate. Grant Fink was 2 for 5 with a run, Kai Hatch was 3 for 4 and Johnny Farrington was 3 for 4 with a run for the Bells.

Bellingham plays at Wenatchee on Sunday, Aug. 5.
