I am writing this letter to thank Dr. Monica Carrillo for the thorough and compassionate care that she recently provided to me when I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma. As a working person who cannot afford medical insurance, it took me some time get an examination of the softball-sized open wound on my back that turned out to be basal cell carcinoma.
The first doctor who looked at it assured me that it was benign without doing any testing of the tissue. When I was able to see Dr. Carrillo, she took immediate action to test the area and kept a close eye on all the procedures done by other medical professionals. Thanks to her, I had an operation to remove the cancer and I have now returned to work. Without her assistance, I hesitate to think of what my fate may have been. Dr. Carrillo truly is a lifesaver and a doctor who cares.
