I am the executive director of a local non-profit and I would like to say why I am supporting Deborah Garrett for Superior Court Judge. Deborah cares about this community and the safety and well-being of the people who live and work here. She has been active supporter in making the organization I work for a success by providing pro-bono legal services to us for over 20 years. On a limited budget, legal services are something most non-profits can't afford but with the risks of doing business as an employer and an organization that supports people in crisis, it is essential to have legal counsel on a regular basis. I have called Deborah and ask her for legal advice on numerous occasions. She has reviewed all of our internal documents and made corrections based on current laws. She does this because she cares about people. Deborah is who I want in public office as she is committed to the people of Whatcom County.
