Published: July 22, 2012

Jordan Kreider hit a home run and had another timely hit to lead Post 7 to a 5-1 win over Hanford in the first game of a senior legion state regional tournament on Saturday, July 21, at Centralia.

The win puts Post 7 in a game vs. Centralia or Spokane on Sunday, July 22. If Post 7 wins it advances to the state tournament and if it loses it will play another game with the winner advancing to the state tournament.

Kreider hit a solo home run in the first inning and had an RBI double in a two-run fifth inning to help Post 7 pull away.

"Kreider had a great game," Post 7 coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview.

John Albert pitched a complete game and finished with seven strikeouts.

"He just pitched himself out of jams throughout the whole game," Slesk said.

Cody Mason was 2 for 4 with two RBI and Sean Locke was 1 for 3 for Post 7.
