Ferndale company participating in state workplace safety program

Published: July 18, 2012

Ferndale's Management Services Northwest is participating in a state workplace safety pilot program.

The program is the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries Blueprint for Safety pilot project. Currently, 12 Washington employers have been invited to take part in the voluntary program, which offers tools to help manage workplaces more safely and productively. Through the program, these employers receive training in areas such as job hazard analysis, accident investigation, return to work, human resources, ergonomics and safety leadership.

"We are honored to be chosen to partner with the Washington State Department of Labor in this groundbreaking initiative to improve workplace safety," said Janelle Bruland, president and CEO of Management Services Northwest, in a news release. She noted the long-term goal is lowering the rates of accident claims and costs.

Management Services Northwest offers facilities management, janitorial, landscaping, maintenance and specialty services. For more information, visit msnw.org.
