Whatcom County government offices will be closed Friday, July 13, one of the 10 closure days planned for 2012 to save money.
It's the seventh of this year's closure days, during which employees take unpaid furloughs.
Most county offices will be closed, except for district and superior courts. The Lummi Island ferry will continue to operate, and senior centers and parks facilities will operate as usual.
The remaining furlough days this year are Aug. 31, Sept. 14 and Oct. 5.
In all, the county expects to save $719,000 this year through the closures.
