Nooksack Valley High School has hired current boys' soccer coach Valentin Villalobos to coach the school's girls' soccer team.

Nooksack Valley posted a 1-15 record under coach David Ostlund last fall. The Pioneers lost to King's 5-0 in the first round of the Class 1A District Tournament.

Nooksack Valley athletic director Tom Harmon wrote he is "looking forward to (Villalobos') approach" in an email.

Possible key returners for the Pioneers' soccer program this fall are Melissa Stadt, Payton Linville, Caroline Murphy, Anna Schorr and Brianna Prink.
