Slam set to battle in title game

Bellingham Slam guard Drew Ready’s career night helped lift Bellingham to a dominant 127-98 win against the Vancouver Volcanoes during the semifinal round of the International Basketball League playoffs Friday, July 6, at Whatcom Pavilion on the campus of Whatcom Community College.

Ready scored a game-high 26 points on 11 for 15 shooting. He also had nine assists and six boards, as the Slam advanced to their third IBL title game in franchise history.

The Slam built a 58-47 halftime lead and added to its advantage in the second half. Paul Hafford chipped in 22 points in the win.

Bellingham will face the Portland Chinooks in the IBL championship game at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Whatcom Pavilion.
