Cascade Crush baseball team qualifies for Triple Crown World Series

The Cascade Crush U14 baseball team, composed of players from Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden, Nooksack Valley and Anacortes, have been awarded a berth in the 2012 Triple Crown World Series, which will be July 17-22 in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

The team will play a minimum of five games against 30 of the best teams in the country.

On Saturday and Sunday, they will have a garage sale fundraiser at Inside Pitch from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will also be handing out fundraising coupons to Menchies that will be redeemable on July 8 or 9. The team will receive a portion of the sales.

The Crush players are Sam Cleary, Nick Merritt, Kyle Sandstrom, Colton Young, Taylor Rapp, Jordan Wittenberg, Joe Brennan, Owen Wright, Noah Rawls, Gabe Constant, Kyler Schemstand, Dalton Ohlislagher, Jake Leavitt and Austin Shenton.
