I am voting for Deborra Garrett for Superior Court judge on Aug. 7. In a time of shrinking budgets and increasing caseloads, Deborra has the experience and the judgment needed to fairly and efficiently handle the types of cases heard in Superior Court. She has more than 30 years of experience in business, family, civil, and criminal law. She has also served as a Superior Court arbitrator and substitute judge, and she is president of the Whatcom County Bar Association.
Electing a judge with experience and integrity is important to the citizens of Whatcom County. The Superior Court hears cases dealing with family law (e.g., divorce, child custody and adoptions), business law (e.g., employment, contracts) and real estate law (e.g., foreclosures).
Deborra is known as an expert in these types of cases, and she is widely respected by clients, attorneys, and judges. Deborra has quietly donated thousands of hours over many years to our community. Since 1980, she has been the volunteer attorney for Womancare Shelter. She has coached the Meridian High School mock trial team for 11 years, served on the Bellingham Planning Committee for 8 years, and currently serves on the Mayor's Neighborhood Advisory Committee and on the Pickford Film Center board of directors. Deborra has been endorsed by more than 450 Whatcom County citizens. For more information, visit dgarrettforjudge.com.
