New bike ride comes to South Sound Sept. 9

Published: July 1, 2012

The Ride the South Sound, a new multi-route bike ride, will take to the streets of Olympia and Thurston County on Sept. 9.

The ride will start and end at downtown Olympia’s Percival Landing waterfront park on Budd Inlet. It will have five fully-supported routes, covering 10, 20, 40, 60 and 100 miles, from easy to challenging. The routes include well-spaced food stops as well as opportunities to visit several local bakeries and delis.

The event also will serve as a fundraiser for the Capital Bicycling Club of Olympia.

You can register for the ride at cbcstore.org/events/rss2012. Individual registration ranges from $10-$35 depending on age or route. Families of three or more people can register for $40. There is a $2 discount for Capital Bicycling Club members. Children 12 and younger ride for free.
