Expect more border traffic through Monday, July 2, as Canadians have a long holiday weekend.
Canada Day, which celebrates the union of the provinces under the name of Canada, is July 1. Most celebrations will be Sunday, with picnics, parades, concerts and fireworks, much like how the U.S. celebrates the Fourth of July.
Monday will be a holiday for government offices and some businesses in Canada. If you're headed to Canada that day, call ahead to make sure any place you plan to visit is open.
