Anderson leads Slam to rout

Bellingham Slam guard Morris Anderson posted a season-high 34 points as the Slam routed the Yamhill Highflyers 141-101 in International Basketball League action on Saturday, June 23, at Whatcom Pavilion.

Yamhill was able to keep the game competitive until the Slam posted a 17-4 run in the middle stages of the second quarter. Bellingham led 68-53 at halftime.

Anderson's 34 points came from 14-of-21 shooting from the floor. Center Blake Poole enjoyed another impressive outing with a double-double of 24 points and a season-high 22 rebounds. Rookie forward Chas Kok finished with 22 points in just 12 minutes of action.

Forward Jermaine Blackburn led Yamhill with 21 points.
