"North Dakota considers eliminating property tax" is the headline that many will be taking about and something for our mayor and City Council to consider. Why did the good people of the state of North Dakota eliminate property taxes -- because their state is business friendly.
They allowed good family-wage jobs to infiltrate their social conscience and political culture on both sides of the isle. Instead of looking to raise the property tax on the working poor and the elderly -- why doesn't our city government look into creating a business climate that actually attracts jobs.
I know - it's easier to travel down that well-traveled road of tax, tax, and more tax, especially during tough economic times.
