SEDRO-WOOLLEY - A driver from Concrete crashed into a Skagit County Sheriff's Office vehicle as it was responding to a domestic violence call Monday, June 18, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Jason D. Banta, 43, was driving a Ford F250 north on Highway 9 in Skagit County at about 2:30 p.m. when he went to take a left turn and crashed into the side of a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by Christopher Dodds, 27, of the Sheriff's Office.
Dodds also was northbound, had the car's lights and sirens on and was passing traffic that was yielding on the right shoulder when the crash occurred at the intersection of the highway and Cultus Mountain Drive. The patrol car went off the road and hit a sewer pumping station and a fence before stopping.
Banta was not injured in the crash. Dodds was treated for several cuts to his scalp and released from the hospital, Trooper Keith Leary said.
Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash and if any charges will be filed. No drugs or alcohol are suspected to be involved.
