Semiahmoo Golf and Country Club pro Jeff Coston settled for a fifth-place finish at the Oregon Open after shooting a 71 on the final day of action Thursday, June 14, at Broken Top Golf Course in Bend, Ore.

"There were 300 guys there, but I like winning," Coston said in a phone interview.

Coston was in the lead after shooting a first-day 66, but a 72 on Wednesday and a 71 Thursday landed the local golf instructor in fifth place on the final leaderboard.

Next for Coston is the 2012 National PGA Championships, which will take place June 24-27 in Monterey, Calif.
