BROOKE BRANIGAN

What she did: Finished in a tie for fourth at the Class 2A State Tournament after firing a two-day 162. ... Won the Northwest District Tournament by six strokes with a score of 149. ... Coach's quote: "She again has become more consistent, as she is still looking to go really low with her scores. She was much more consistent this year, and that allowed her to get the MVP award on the team. She hit the ball as well as anyone. She just needs to refine her short game to get to the next level. The best thing about Brooke is she is a great golfer and a great teammate. She was chosen team captain and did a lot of things behind the scene to hold the team together." - Brad McKay

Coach's quote: "She has really been solid this year and really solidified our No. 4 spot. It is really nice to see a person play golf who doesn't necessarily consider herself a golfer. It's nice to have kids come into our program who have never played, then play for four years and be on a state championship team. She shot an 86 on the first day of state and played a huge role for our team to be able to do what we did this year." - Brad McKay

LAURA WILSON

School: Mount Baker

Year: Junior

Coach's quote: "She had a great season. I was really impressed with how well she finished her season. She was really consistent towards the greens and stayed out of trouble. I saw a big improvement from her longer irons, although last season she was solid. She was team captain and a quiet leader. She's not going to get in your face, but she lets her actions speak. At the end of the year the girls vote for a leadership award, and I don't think anyone voted for anyone else." - Mike Lembo
