Kwiatkowski places 15th in 5,000 at NCAA Championships

Bellingham High alum Chris Kwiatkowski wrapped up his University of Oregon running career by placing 15th in the men's 5,000 meters at the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Friday, June 8, at Des Moines, Iowa.

Kwiatkowski, a senior, finished the event in 14 minutes, 5.38 seconds - nearly two seconds faster than his seed time. Southern Utah's Cameron Levins won the race in 13:40.05.

Ducks junior teammate Becca Friday, who also graduated from Bellingham, will compete in the finals of the women's 1,500 on the final day of the championships on Saturday, June 9.
