BELLINGHAM - An Allegiant flight from Mesa, Ariz., to Bellingham safely made an emergency landing Tuesday night, Feb. 21, in Klamath Falls, Ore., after one of the plane's two generators malfunctioned.

The 154 passengers waited at Klamath Falls Airport until about midnight, when a relief flight arrived, said Allegiant spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler. The passengers arrived at Bellingham International Airport about six hours late.

Passengers received a $75 voucher for the inconvenience.

Mechanics based in Bellingham were inspecting the MD-80 airliner, but no details about the mechanical problem were available Wednesday.
