Even before the fire at BP Cherry Point on Friday, Feb. 17, gas prices were already on the rise in the Bellingham metro area, according to AAA Washington.
On Tuesday, Feb. 21, the average price was $3.78 a gallon in Bellingham, up a penny from Monday, up 13 cents from last week, up 20 cents from last month and up 29 cents from a year ago.
