The Lummi boys' basketball team lost to Neah Bay 57-51 in overtime in the Class 1B Tri-District championship game on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Mountlake Terrace.
The loss puts the Blackhawks as the No. 2 seed out of the district heading into next week's regional game on Friday at Mountlake Terrace.
"It was a good game," Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview. "We just came up short tonight."
Lummi's Jordan Deardoff, who scored 12 points, hit a 3-pointer with 5 seconds left in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. Logan Toby also scored 12 points for the Blackahwks.
Toby said the game came down to free throw shooting in overtime.
"They converted on the foul shots and we didn't," Toby said.
