LETTER: Questions response to Jewish Times editorial

Posted: 12:01am on Feb 18, 2012; Modified: 1:44pm on Feb 18, 2012

On Jan. 13, Andrew Adler, editor of the Atlanta Jewish Times, clearly impatient that Iran was not yet reeling under a full-scale U.S. military onslaught, mused in an editorial on three possible means of stirring the U.S. to action, one of which was the suggestion that the Israeli government authorize Mossad to assassinate President Obama. Adler's rationale was that Joe Biden would then succeed Obama and, being more subservient to Israel, would order the necessary strikes.

Adler's suggestion, if successful, would have been only the ultimate in Israeli attacks on American citizens. We have the 34 American sailors murdered in June 1967 aboard the USS Liberty, Rachel Corrie, mangled beneath an Israeli bulldozer in March 2003, and Furkan Dogan, a victim of the Israeli assault on the Mavi Marmara in May 2010. Among others.

The Zionist establishment, embarrassed at being caught out, pressured Adler's resignation as editor, but the newspaper hasn't ceased publishing and Adler is not facing incitement to violence charges, which clearly would have been the outcome had he had been the Muslim editor of a Muslim publication.

Final question: Is Andrew Adler an aberration or the tip of the iceberg?
