JoAnn Roe, author of the new book "San Juan Islands: Into the 21st Century," will speak to the Whatcom Maritime Association about steamboats, ferries and passenger boats that have linked Bellingham to the San Juan Islands.
The society meeting will start at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Squalicum Yacht Club, 2633 S. Harbor Loop Drive. Her talk is free and open to the public.
