Vegetable expert, researcher speaks Feb. 9 at Master Gardener event in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM - Carol Miles, a vegetable expert and researcher based in Mount Vernon, will be the featured speaker at the Master Gardener Foundation monthly meeting Thursday, Feb. 9.

The free event is open to the public. It begins at 6:30 p.m. with a social time at Washington State University's extension office in Bellingham, 1000 N. Forest St., Suite 201.

The event will include the annual seed exchange.

Miles is an associate professor at WSU and is the vegetable specialist at WSU's Northwest Washington Research & Extension Center in Mount Vernon.

Among her topics will be her research, grafting, high tunnels and biodegradable mulches.
