Keli'i Kaui helped lead a solid performance at the free-throw line for the Bellingham girls' basketball team in a 57-47 Northwest Conference victory over visiting Nooksack Valely on Thursday, Feb. 2.
The win improved the Red Raiders to 8-11, 3-9 NWC while the Pioneers dropped to 7-12, 5-7 NWC.
Bellingham outshot Nooksack Valley 28-13 at the free-throw line and Kaui, who had a game-high 15 points, was 8 for 8 from the line.
"We were really aggressive to getting to the hoop," Bellingham coach Randy Kaui said in a phone interview.
The Red Raiders, who broke the game open with a 22-10 edge in the second quarter, were also led by Alyssa Porter who had 13 points.
The Pioneers were led by Kaycee DeBruin's 13 points and Melissa Stadt's 12 points.
Nooksack Valley next travels to Blaine, while Bellingham heads to Meridian. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6.
