Families are invited to the Foothills Learning Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 for “Cold Play,” a program that will detail how birds and game animals adapt to the challenges of a harsh Idaho winter.

The free program is open to all ages; registration is not required.

Some of the day's activities include comparing the pelts of deer in summer vs. winter and learning how animals adapt to the changing seasons. Bill London of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game will give presentations at 10:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the classroom.

The Foothills Learning Center is at 3188 Sunset Peak Road in Hulls Gulch Reserve. Take 8th Street through Boise’s North End and continue a third of a mile past the end of the pavement. The building is located beyond the trailhead parking lot on the right.
