Former Blaine pitcher Kyle Olason got his collegiate baseball career off to a good start, pitching five strong innings for the College of Southern Idaho on Friday, Jan. 27.

Olason allowed one earned run on five hits and helped the Golden Eagles to an 8-7 victory over Yavapai (Ariz.) in its season opener. Olason did not get the win, as his bullpen failed him in the eight inning, allowing Yavapai to tie the game.

Olason is a redshirt freshman after transferring to the school from the University of Washington.
