BELLINGHAM - A fundraising is this weekend for the family of Caleb "Flip" Kors, the 10-year-old Bellingham-area boy who died in mid-January in an accidental hanging.
The event will include live music, entertainment and a silent auction from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at the Blue Horse Gallery, 301 W. Holly St., No. 101. Donations for the auction have come from around the city and the country.
Attendees are asked to dress creatively, because Kors was known for his homemade costumes and his keen sense of fashion.
The Sudden Valley community has organized another fundraiser with live music, dancing and juggling performances for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Sudden Valley Dance Barn.
Kors was often seen juggling and doing magic tricks at the Bellingham Farmers Market. He died Jan. 10 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after he accidently hanged himself in his bedroom while apparently working on a costume.
Proceeds from both events will help to pay for the family's medical and funeral costs.
