Nick Zeegers scored 19 points, Blake Zender added 15 and the Bellingham boys' basketball team defeated visiting Mount Baker 64-53 in a Northwest Conference game on Thursday, Jan. 26, to end the Red Raiders' four-game losing streak.
It was the first win for Bellingham (3-13, 2-7 NWC) since beating Squalicum 51-50 on Jan. 6.
Zeegers' 19-point point performance on Thursday came after scoring a season-high 20 points against Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday.
Bellingham trailed by as much as 17 points before storming back in the second half. The Red Raiders outscored Mount Baker 22-10 in the fourth quarter.
"We Kind of struggled throughout the game scoring but we turned it on in the fourth quarter," Bellingham assistant coach Tom Rawlings said in a phone interview. "Our goal now is to finish the season strong."
Bellingham hosts Blaine next, while Mount Baker hosts Squalicum. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27.
