Cambie Edwards scored 21 points but it wasn't enough as the Whatcom Community College women's basketball team fell 68-59 on the road against Peninsula on Wednesday, Jan. 11, for its first NWAACC North Division loss of the season.

Peninsula's Taylor Larson was too much for Whatcom inside the paint. She scored a game-high 25 points on 12-of-15 shooting.

"Larson was a presence on the low block tonight," Whatcom coach Sara Bergner said in a phone interview "We allowed her to catch the ball too easily down there. We tried to limit her opportunities, but she had her way with us."

The Orcas fell to 7-6 overall and 2-1 in the North Division.

Whatcom hosts Shoreline at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14.
