The Whatcom Community College women's basketball team used strong rebounding and teamwork to earn a 63-33 NWAACC North Division victory Saturday, Jan. 7, at Edmonds.

Erika Locker had 18 points, Kariah Kussman had 14 points and six assists and Cambi Edwards added 13 points and 14 rebounds and the Orcas improved to 2-0 in league and 7-5 overall.

Whatcom outrebounded Edmonds 60-28 in the game.

"We had 26 offensive rebounds and that gave us easy putbacks," WCC coach Sarah Bergner said in a phone interview. "Offensively, we moved the ball really well and it created some good looks for us.
