Few wrestling matches end with both teams scoring the same number of points, but Squalicum and Burlington-Edison did just that, as both squads earned 36 points in a Northwest Conference dual Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Squalicum High School.
Fortunately for the Storm, they recorded five pins compared to the Tigers' one and were awarded the win based off the number of pins tiebreaker.
"I couldn't be more proud of my guys," Squalicum coach Russell Robinson said in a phone interview. "A couple times we had to fight off our back, but we got the job done."
Wrestling out of the 126 slot, the Storm's Spencer Wallace earned a pin that gave Squalicum the tie, which translated into a win
Squalicum competes in the Battle at the Border next at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Blaine High School.
