DAYTON -- Ski Bluewood opened today with about 40 percent of the runs available.

As at 5 a.m. today, reported snow depths were 25 inches at the summit and 20 inches at the base. There has been just 4 inches of snowfall in the past week.

Last year, the resort also opened on Dec. 3, but there was considerably more snow (38 inches at the base with 44 inches at the summit).

It marks the second year of ownership for Kelly and Mike Stephenson, who bought it from Stan and Nancy Goodell.
