WOMEN'S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Locker leads way for WCC

The Whatcom Community College women's basketball team earned its first win of the season with a 70-39 home win Saturday, Nov. 26, against Green River Community College.

Erika Locker led the way with 21 points, five assists and four steals as the Orcas improved to 1-1.

Kariah Kussman added 13 points, Cambie Edwards had 10 rebounds and Alexis Wolf added five assists for Whatcom.

"It was really good," WCC coach Sara Bergner said in a phone interview of the first win of the season. "We have a lot of new faces this year and everyone contributed, which was nice to see." Every player on Whatcom scored in the game.

WCC is back in action with a 2 p.m. start Sunday, Nov. 27, at home against Yakima.
