BELLINGHAM -- The traffic lights in the area of Meridian Street and Interstate 5, near the Black Friday shopping madness at Bellis Fair mall, were reported out shortly after noon Friday, Nov. 25.
Traffic is expected to jam up in the area, which already was full of shoppers.
It was not immediately clear what caused the failure or when the stoplights would be restored.
Drivers should avoid the area if possible. Those heading to the mall via Interstate 5 can use the dedicated ramp if going northbound or take the West Bakerview Road exit if going southbound to avoid the outage area.
