Brad Jones of Bellingham placed high in two events at the International Kettlebell and Fitness World Championships in Detroit on Saturday, Nov. 19.

Jones, 45, placed second in the 5-minute chair press competition in the 181-pound weight class. The event required competitors to press two 44-pound kettlebells overhead from a seated position. Jones completed 43 repititions in the event.

Jones also placed sixth in the professional division of the 181-pound weight class for the 10-minute long-cycle event. In the long-cycle event, competitors complete a reptetion by swinging 53-pound kettlebells between the legs, cleaning them to a rack position and then jerking them overhead until a judge signals approval.

Jones is the practitioner/owner of Rolfing Bellingham and teaches a kettlebell class at Jogo Crossfit Bellingham.
