When I flew into the Bellingham airport on Nov. 9, I was greeted by airport emergency operations employees, Russ and Tom, asking travelers if they were being picked up by "Joyce." When I said I was, they escorted me to the emergency medical vehicle where I saw Joyce being cared for by the EMTs. Russ and Tom then waited for my luggage and stowed it in the back of Joyce's car. Since she was being transported the the hospital in the EMT vehicle, I had to drive her car home. Russ and Tom had to show me how to start the car, turn on the lights, release the brake, etc.
They made a potentially daunting situation into a calm event through their professionalism and unruffled demeanor.
We are lucky to have these men working at our airport.
