Local schools honored for higher test scores

A total of 99 schools in Washington state have been honored as Schools of Distinction. The schools are recognized for five-year improvements in reading and math test scores.

Local schools include Evergreen and Naches Trail Elementary, Bethel School District; Beachwood Elementary and Hudtloff Middle School, Clover Park School District; Central Avenue Elementary, Franklin Pierce School District; Ballou and Kalles Junior High, and Fruitland, Shaw Road and Wildwood Elementary, Puyallup School District; Lowell and Washington-Hoyt Elementary and Wilson High, Tacoma School District; Narrows View Intermediate, University Place School District; and Foothills Elementary, White River School District.
