The Whatcom Community College volleyball team picked up a 20-25, 25-17, 25-27, 25-22, 15-12 NWAACC North Division win Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Shoreline.

Emily Jovanovich and Kaitie Brush had 13 kills each and Brittney De Jager had 36 assists and 15 digs for the Orcas, who improved to 17-14 overall and 5-4 in league.

Whatcom, which already qualified for the postseason, finishes up the regular season with a 7 p.m. match Tuesday, Nov. 8, at home against Edmonds and coach Jeff McDonald said his team is playing well at the right time.

"We've been doing really well. Kind of coming together," McDonald said in a phone interview of his team that won four matches at a tournament last weekend. "We weren't expected to beat (Shoreline) so that was very good."
