BELLINGHAM A man was rushed to the hospital after cutting off one of his arms with a homemade guillotine Thursday, Oct. 27, according to Bellingham police.
The man walked into a urology clinic in the 300 block of Birchwood Avenue at about 11:15 a.m., and staff called police when they saw that his right arm had been severed above the elbow, said police spokesman Mark Young.
The man, who police said may be a transient, was rushed to St. Joseph hospital as police officers searched the area around the clinic for his arm. Officers found the arm and an elaborate homemade guillotine in a transient camp in woods near the clinic. The arm was taken to the hospital in hopes that it could be reattached.
