Author Karl Marlantes to visit WCC to discuss psychic ravages of war

Whatcom Community College Foundation and Village Books present an evening in conversation with Karl Marlantes, author of "What It Is Like to Go to War," facilitated by WCC faculty member Bob Winters, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the college's Syre Student Center, 237 W. Kellogg Road.

The nonfiction book, inspired by Marlantes' experiences in Vietnam, is about the experience of combat and how inadequately young men and women are prepared for the psychological and spiritual stresses of war. Tickets are $5; doors open at 6:30 p.m.
