Tia Brogna had a hat trick and assist as the Whatcom Community College women's soccer team earned an 8-1 victory Wednesday, Oct. 19, at home over Skagit Valley College.

Brogna scored two of Whatcom's five first half goals.

MacKenzie Garrett and Daisha Zwick each had a goal and an assist for the Orcas, who improved to 6-4-2 in the NWAACC North Division and 7-4-3 overall.

Also scoring goals for Whatcom were Libby Hotson, Riley Marcus and Lauren Frey.

"I think we've done a good job of figuring out our identity on offense and we finished some shots we missed the past couple of games so I was pleased with that," WCC coach Claire Morgan said in a phone interview. "I was pleased with the overall effort today."

Allison Holterman and Bree Park combined for eight saves in goal for Whatcom, which hosts Green River at noon Saturday, Oct. 22.
