COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Orcas make easy work of Olympic

The Whatcom Community College volleyball team earned a 25-22, 25-22, 25-21 victory Friday, Sept. 30, at home over Olympic College.

Kayla McDonnell had 15 kills for the Orcas, Emily Jovonovich added 12 kills, Brittney DeJager had 39 assists and Kelsey Cooley had 12 digs.

WCC coach Jeff McDonald said he's seen improvement in his team, which improved to 11-7 overall and 2-1 in the NWAACC North Division.

"We're definitely playing better every match," McDonald said in a phone interview, "definitely improving."

The Orcas host Shoreline at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5.
